What cpu can i run

Hi guys'
First off all my pc specs
Dell optiplex 780
4gb RAM
Pentium dual core (6ghz)
600 psu (new)
HD 5450 (1gb hyper memory)

As you can see i have a pentium dual-core CPU im wondering what i can upgrade to or am i biting more then i can chew?

For starters, check out the AMD FX-6300 and the Gigabyte 970a-ud3. The beauty of this combo is the overclocking potential. I'd link you to a store page, but I don't know where you prefer to shop for components in the UK.

To ensure capability with your existing hardware, it would be helpful if you could at least post the model numbers for the RAM you use.

The problem with upgrading your CPU is that you would also need to upgrade your motherboard if you wanted to make any meaningful upgrade. Even upgrading to a better CPU that's compatible with your motherboard would be a waste of money, as the upgrade in performance would be meager at best.

You need to upgrade your motherboard if you want to make a big CPU upgrade.

On a different note, have you really overclocked your pentium to 6GHz?! That's impressive.
