Hey guys,

A friend of mine is having an issue with his computer detecting a second monitor that he doesn't currently (and never has) had plugged in. Obviously, the problem is that when he moves his mouse to the right of his screen, he's losing it entirely (to the second monitor I assume.)

I personally use three monitors myself, so I know how to go about setting them up and removing them, but the typical troubleshooting isn't working for him.

The two second monitors that are being detected are called, "GeForce GT 545" and his integrated graphics. He did recently install the Geforce and that's when the issue arose.

I had him go into device manager, and the computer is still listing his Integrated graphics as a GPU along with his GeForce.

I'm wondering if I should just have him disable the integrated under device manager and see if that fixes the problem, but I don't want to be hasty.

Thanks in advance for any help!

First off, What OS?

Second of all, have you tried just using the Windows Display Properties(screen resolution section on newer versions of Windows) to see if it is showing 2 screens in extended mode?

If it is, just disable the one that does not exist.

Windows 7 is the OS and yes, like I said I personally have used the Display option to set up and move around my multiple monitors. He can see the two additional monitors under screen resolution. They're just black screens, one on the left and one on the right but he has no option to disable them.

I should mention that the labels on the two addition monitors directly reflect his integrated GPU and his Nvidia card.

Well if you want to try to disable the onboard video card, Try to see if you can do it in the bios.
