HELP!! m5040 dell laptop now beeping!!

Help needed... Fed up and stuck in bed atm...and laptop not working...have been unable to get any farther than inspiron start up screen and only have a choice of pressing f2 or f12
I have done a diagnostics check and all appears fine.( via step by step guide on mobile!)
The laptop now seems to let out high pitched beeping soon after its switched on, but still stuck on startup screen!
Help pleeease! I have no idea what to try next :/

Hi, thank you for your reply, I'm afraid I know very little about comps :/ all I can say is, as I switch it on, a greyish screen with Inspiron logo comes up and as i think i said, all I have is the option to go onto f2 or f12...but don't know what to do when I get on there! :/

That sounds like it's just stuck at the BIOS. Check the beep codes with Dell to see what it may be. May be a motherboard issue if it does not even try to load Windows.
