Hello all, I have to replace my old laptop which is flaking out on me. Problem is I would like to get a desktop, well that's not the problem, the problem is I am married and the wife doesn't want a tower in the sitting room. So I am thinking about a small form factor PC.

Ideally I need something petite on size and as quiet as possible. In terms of performance I would like it to max out Skyrim and have 8 logical cores for 3d rendering... is such a thing possible? I would be in the £700-800 area on this.

I should add I need an HDMI out as I would have to use a TV as a monitor while I saved up to buy one. (I know, sorry.)

thanks

Thanks, that is very interesting, but a bit too underpowered for my needs, I can go a bit louder and bit bigger for some more punch.

Thanks, but conversely, this is a bit too pokey for me, possibly. For a start my absolute top budget would be about £1300, and that would mean I would have to use an HDTV as a monitor through HDMI while I saved for a monitor... that's a good point I should add that to the original spec, such as it is.

Definitely, good to think in a few years time I could run all my needs from a small, cold and silent brick.
