Windows takes a long time to boot with high spec PC

Hi all,

windows 7 64 bit takes for ever to boot about 1 min on a high spec PC 8 cores 3TB 16GB ram in event viewer it has issues such as error 106,100,200 what could be causing this prolonged boot time??

Is this a new system?, as if you've had it for quite sometime then i'd say this is a natural problem (Windows performance degrades over time). There actually was just an article written about it on this site. Have you tried defragmenting your system? (i use Smart Defrag 2, which defrags faster then Windows built in defragger)

Also check to see if there are any programs starting up while your system boots, click your start button, type in msconfig and to go "startup" and check anything you don't want to be booting up with your system, if anything.

says it an BackgroundPrefetchTime error and i don't know how to fix this i have looked on Microsoft website and there is no help there..!
