Hey :)

I am a huge fanboy of video editing and I love making montages of games and videos! But also I play games.

Aaand I got stucked!
I will buy a new pc and I wonder wich graphics card would be the best for it!

I don't use 3D programes like Maya/ Cinema 4D that much, but more like After Effects and Sony Vegas :)

1. Would NVIDIA be better than AMD?

2. Is it worth to get a expensive graphics card? ( 780/770)

Thank's :)

In addition to Gate9er, choose some fast RAM i'm thinking at least 8Gb possibly 12Gb depending on your budget and also go for at least 1800Mhz and above. While RAM speed doesn't have much of an impact on gaming you will reap rewards with Video Editing alongside a fast CPU

That's rendering I suppose? When the cpu is used most :/
I know i7 4770 is the best for it, but recently I heared about Xeon with same stats and almost* same performance just without integrated GPU.
Would that be a good choise for video editing?

Thanks :)

I'm not really familiar with Xeon processors as they are usually Server based CPU's but i've got an overclocked 4770K and it's simply awesome! You can't go wrong with that CPU.

My budget is about 1600$, with a xeon I am able to afford a GTX 780 :)

Ram will be 16GB's ofcourse! The speed was also a question I have been given myself :)
Would more speed affect video editing and rendering, example a 1600MHz and 1866MHz?

That's the problem, I don't want to oveclock my cpu, the additional power consumption will cost me a lot ( electricity in my country ) :/
And the xeon looks on the paper the same as i7 :) ( I hope it works also the same! )

Yes your RAM speed will effect your video editing and rendering. The faster for these applications the better. I'm sure1866 will do the job nicely but it might be worth pricing even faster RAM if you have any money left over.

i'dddd still go with xeon, 100$ money save that meanse a 780 GTX for me. If it's more like a workstation, It will help my video editing as I will be doing it a lot and also rendering :)
Thank's for help anyways
