so a sapphire R9 290 , G990 FXA-UD3 , AMD 8350 black edition , 8 Gb G-Skill RAM , and the mystery lies in the power supplier ! sapphire tech says R9 290 needs 750 watt , i was about to go for cooler master 720 watt bronze , when someone blow my head with a phone call recommending 1000 watt or 900 at least , otherwise i wont get maximum performance i want which is my top priority here , a higher watts of cooler master are not available , i tried to go for higher watts so i ended finding myself forced to go for SeaSonic 850 bronze ( +80 ) , so i rejected the deal as result of hesitation that i may after all this it would fail because of the last component -_- , no chance that i take a tiny risk about some brand i am not sure about its quality with high components like these , many of you are aware that famous brands like Dell , Gamma provide their name to nasty manufacturers and as result many power suppliers are not for granted , so trade marks are no longer references , and you cant judge power supplier now days by it package descriptions , i was fooled many times with fancy packages and trade marks , and finally get crappy performance in the end ( regarding that warranty exceeded 3 years , but the warranty terms were smart ass ) , many guys confirmed that to get the most of a graphic card u have to go beyond its power supplier requirement , now i am lost and don't know a brand that i can buy for granted without getting fool again , btw even high prices are no more reference , so all i ask that someone provide me with the suitable brand that i can trust , and number of watts i need to boost up the above components ( at some other place i found 1200 watt , but i think it way too much more i need besides it is too damn expensive for something i am not sure i need or not ! if i was , i wouldn't hesitate to get it then ! ) i dont care for budget limits ! as long as it gives me the max performance i want , but dont exceed my needs ! ThnQ for your time

If the OP is planning to overclock the AMD FX 8350 then 600W would not have enough spare capacity on its +12V rail(s) to safely handle it (i.e. depending on the magnitude of the OC).

The 750W that Sapphire specifies would definitely be enough, especially if it has a +12 Volt continuous current rating of 62 Amps.

If there is a plan for using two Radeon R9 290 in 2-way CrossFire in the future then it would make sense to get a 1000W PSU.
Honestly you could get away with a high quality 600 watt psu, just look up the actual power requirments specified by the card manufacturer.
make sure the 12v rail is strong enough to support the card.

You don't NEED crazy power supplies to run single gpu rigs. the 290 will use 300 watts max on it's own, your cpu will be anywhere from 70-140 and then minimal increases from the rest of the system.

get a good quality psu with what you feel will be roughly 20-30% more wattage than your system would use given the numbers i just gave, and then make sure the 12v rail on the psu has adequate amerage to run a 290. (42 amp recommended)

The card will use 336w max. A good 600w PSU would be just fine for a single card. The 750w reccomendation is for PSU's that are not so good(raidmax, apevia, and such brands), and I wouldn't suggest using such a unit anyways.
a few suggestions

If you plan on a 2nd for crossfire then you would want a the larger 900-1000w power supplies.

A good quality 600-650W PSu is all you will need for that set up. Only reason to get anything more than that is if you were going to run multiple graphics cards. The main issue with power supplies is you get what you pay for. Build quality makes a huge difference in the quality and stability of the power delivered to your system. Stick to brands like Seasonic, Antec etc.

Here is Guru3D's power supply recommendation:

AMD Radeon R9 290 - On your average system the card requires you to have a 550~600 Watt power supply unit.
AMD Radeon R9 290 Crossfire - On your average system the cards require you to have a 800 Watt power supply unit as minimum.

If you are going to overclock GPU or processor, then we do recommend you purchase something with some more stamina.

The standard for that graphics card is 650W psu recommendation. That is with a cpu that draws about 100W. The cpu you have can draw about 200W so the 750W recommendation is not that far off. If you get a great psu like Seasonic or XFX (also Seasonic) you can get a 650W and feel comfortable.
