What would be the best way to connect to the internet for me?

Hello

I've been connected to the internet by WiFi thus far. This has always been extremely crappy, because the walls of my room are really thick, and they almost fully block the network. The connection can't even reach my bed. There has also been a large increase in computers in my household, so my connection is now slower and more instable than ever before...

here's one of my amazing blueprints of my house, with green being a good connection, orange being bad, and red being no connection at all. I'm not exaggerating, this is how it is.

Now, I am looking for a better way to connect myself to the internet, because this is driving me insane. I'd like to point out that there's no way I can get a cable to connect the router to the computer directly, and all other computers are connected by WiFi to the router. What would be the best way to connect?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks

Don't tell me you have lead in that room? (Superman JOke) Unless you're extremely good with cabling, your best bet is to either upgrade your router, or get arepeater. I own a Belkin Pre-N (and it goes through 3 floors (including a basement) with no problems. Drops connection once every 3 months, but otherwise solid. What router do you currently own? and what are you connecting? your pc? to Is it a laptop?

I'm connecting a computer, so it's not moving anywhere :) and yes, there actually are thick layers of lead in the walls... They keep me warm, but this is a big downside :p And is that repeater practical? Because once in the room, the connection is already crappy :c A friend also told me I could connect by using my wall plug to connect via the power running through the house? would this be a remotely good idea?

thanks for the help!

What exactly is your friend smoking ? You can't just connect to any old port or place in the house and hope you get a connection. It has to be wired for that specific use. If it's possible you could have you ISP come to the house and wire it up for a wired connection in your room instead of wireless. Otherwise a repeater will catch the signal in between you and the router and strengthen it before spitting it back out for you to connect to it.

You would need to put the repeater outside the room where it gets good singal but close enough to the wall that it could get though it.

Powerline network is you best option but be sure you buy it where you can return it. There are some rare house it just does not work in. It works pretty well in most houses

With the computer, are you hooked with a dongle? tell me the brand and make (or did it come with its won wifi antenna, like the Aaus z87 Pro). There are some wifi dongles that are horrendous (i owned one and would drop every 20 minutes no matter what)

I'm using a TP-LINK TL-WN821N dongle, and if it could help, my router is a Bbox2, which is a Belgian piece of shit

I asked my father about this, and he said it's going to be tricky, because our power has a 3-wire circuit or something... I don't know anything about this, so I'm sorry if you feel like you're explaining stuff to a brick wall! Thanks for the advice though!

My friend smokes a home-grown, 2nd gen crossed mexican sativa with Afghani indica, it's pretty good

and I don't think I have enough money/patience for a procedure like that :p I might do that, but I need a faster, temporarely solution atm :)

But thanks! I appreciate it
