Hello, I currently have an HP G62-364dx laptop and I want to upgrade the ram. Right now it has a 2gb card and a 1gb card. As far as I know this laptop supports dual channel memory. So my question is, would it be better to buy a 4gb card and get rid of the 1gb and have a total of 6gb or get rid of the 2gb and 1gb and get 2x4gb cards to use the dual channel?

I want to sell this laptop that I have now soon so I dont want to spend a lot of money on memory. I just want to play Feed the Beast Unleashed and I need to upgrade my ram to play it well. So 2x4gb will improve my gaming experience on FTB more instead of 1x4gb and 1x2gb?

If you keep the ram around the same timings, it shouldn't matter.
And if you are planning on selling it soon anyways, i wouldn't pour too much money into it.
go with the 1x4gb and 1x2gb sticks.
Look up what sticks are in there already, and try to stay close to the same timings in your current RAM.
