Disk consistently at 99% for no apparent reason

So recently I've been noticing a major issue with my pc. It's just so slow, I looked around and noticed on my task manager that my disk was always at 99%. Not in terms of storage capacity, but in read write I guess. My "System" as its labeled in task manager takes up 20-40Mbps of disk constantly and its slowing down the rest of my computer. I have no idea why this happens too, its not always, it seems to happen at random times that it maxes out my disk. I'm not downloading anything and no other programs are doing anything to my knowledge.

I know the information I gave it vague, so if you need more just ask.

Solution
Check to see what is taking up your HDD.
It says system in the task manager, so it must be the OS.
Maybe a defrag will help with the strain a bit.

Weird, I guess it was already being defragged. Thats why it was being so slow, whatever thanks!
