Hi all,

I am debating whether I need to buy a new headset for gaming. I play MMOs mostly but do want solid sound & need a mic, even though I don't use it too frequently. I currently own Bose QuietComfort 15 with a mic on the cord, however there is just one jack on the cord. Is there any way to plug that into my pc so that I can use both the headset and the mic?

Thanks!

That should be what you need, it will split the extra ring off into another connector which you should be able to connect to the mic line of the PC.

I run my bose triports off the front jack of my speakers so i don't have the impedance issue, but even running them off the front panel of my PC they just don't get crazy loud. If you have speakers with an amp in them that can feed the headphones they will solve your problem.
stay clear of bose for gaming gear they are really pants mate...
they tend to use high impedance which means if you dont have a dac/amp the audio will be very quiet. for gaming you want 20 to 32ohm
lower than 20 you get really poor audio, higher than 32 you will be at the limits of most onboard solutions without an amp.

I want to bring up the question again as I have just bought the Bose Quiet Comfort 25 (http://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B00M1NEUKK) and bought the headset splitter mentioned above (http://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B0058DOWH6). However, on my new Windows 10 PC I'm still not able to use the Bose Quiet Comfort as mic. Any ideas how to solve the issue or what I can try to find the problem?

P.S.: I got the Bose Quiet Comfort as Apple Edition, might this be the problem? The mic works fine with my iPad and iPhone...

here you go, read the reviews and it says they specifically used it for gaming. u just needed the android version not apple. http://www.amazon.com/HeadphoneMate-Microphone-Samsung-Android-Smartphones/dp/B00EWQDC8A/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1456762865&sr=8-1&keywords=bose+qc+15+android+mic
