Hey there.

I have a maximum budget of £800-850 and have come up with these specs. I have a friend at a computer store who will provide me with a free compatible case so no need to worry with that.

Could you let me know please if these specs will be adequate enough for gaming and some fair-medium photoshop and media work?

Motherboard: Asus P9X79
Processor: Intel® Core™ i7-4820k – 3.7GHz
Graphics Card: EVGA GTA 770 Superclocked ACX
Memory: Corsair Vengeance 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 1600
Solid State Drive: Samsung 840 EVO 250GB - For OS
Hard Disk Drive: Already have a 3TB External HDD
Power Supply Unit: Corsair CX600M 600W
Wireless Card: TP-Link TL-WDN4800

Any compatibility or suggestions please let me know! Many thanks!

You'll probably be fine using the 4770k on an 1150 socket. For media work I know higher frequency RAM comes in handy so if you can find some 1866 or 2133 in your price range it'd be worth looking into. The cx series isn't the best at that price range, look for a xfx, antec or seasonic within your reach.

If you feel like you need that processor still you should look into a different PSU yet.

Hi there. I thought the 4820k is for the 2011 socket only, hence the choice of motherboard? I'll definitely consider a speedier RAM, do you know what would be best, I can afford about £72 MAX. The current RAM is £62. Will a 600W PSU be sufficient however, if with a different brand? Thanks!

I would up it as you are getting unlocked cpus so you should be doing OC. Corsair tx and hx series are good ones, otherwise the brands before are also good. The 4820k is for the 2011 socket, I was suggesting that a different cpu/mobo combo would fit your needs.

With the psu stay with corsair they are one of the best brands out there i personally use their psu's But maybe get a 700 watt to get some headroom and to compensate for ageing
