I currently have an issue with the Corsair M95...

I can't seem to be able to use my fancy Razer Goliath mousepad with this mouse.
However, I can use the fabric of my pants or a shiny $2 mousepad. Is this a defect? Or just regular?

Solution
which particular mousepad do you have from razer?

some of the mousepads offered by razer have a woven finish to them. perhaps this has something to do with it. i know some materials track better than others however typically more issues arise from glossy finishes or glass not any sort of fabric texture. perhaps if you are using a woven texture it is able to pick up on more detail so acts like it is set on a higher dpi.

or it could be related to the particular colors/artwork used. its a known fact that high contrast complex images can cause erratic mouse performance though most of razers products do not seem too terrible in this regard. of course some mice are more tempermental than others.

what are your dpi & mouse speed settings in...

Edit: My apologies.

The issue is that the mouse jitters when moving the mouse around. Similar to having a mouse raised and sometimes the cursor refuses to move.

what are your dpi & mouse speed settings in windows and in razer synapse? how many inches of travel from left to right on the mousepad to make your mouse move from left to right on screen (edge to edge... but move slow in case you have mouse acceleration turned on). if you have high settings then perhaps the additional textures on the mousepad are registering giving you high sensitivity. dialing down your sensitivy (dpi) and/or speed may help. also you may want to enable/disable mouse acceleration (in windows mouse settings its a checkbox labeled enhance pointer precision)

also if the mouse is acting as if its at a higher dpi setting it could be your hand jittering just a bit as most hands do.

some other causes of mouse jitter besides what i listed above...
-worn out teflon feet (high friction causing mouse to stick)
-too low of dpi setting with too high of speed setting (causing great speed but less points of reference so mouse moves odd)
-uneven surface material causing erratic laser performance (laser mice need to be on a completely flat surface). a rough surface such as a heavy woven texture may cause erratic performance.
-drinking too much coffee (threw this in as a joke... but its true)

in any case see if any of that helps. just dont forget to write down your settings first before you change anything.

I use a Razer Goliathus mousepad that apparently are microfibers and are supposedly better for high DPI mice. My mouse is at 2100 DPI, I tried 8000 and 200 DPI and could not get my mouse to work. It seems that this mouse is preferably best with high gloss/natural surfaces (pant leggings, wooden tabletops)/cheap polypropylene mouse pads
My Gigabyte Krypton works best with low/cloth textured pads
My Razer Imperator works best with a high density/microfiber pad
This Corsair M95 seems best with polypropylene pads...and these are the typical $5 general pads, weird.

I know there was a lot of variables to consider on what can go wrong with a mouse, and I appreciate your effort SSDX for considering the possibilities and the latter. I will probably invest in a more decent polypropylene corsair mouse pad. However in return, here's for best answer :)
