Windows 7 or Vista?

This is my first gaming rig but im unsure on what operating system to get. Im most familiar with Vista but are there any major upgrades or changes to make it worth switching to 7?

Windows Millenium. Somewhere in the archives, I still have a set of install/restore WinMe disks for an old Sony laptop. They have not gone through the shredder, simply because I am lazy.

Back when Vista was new I had an Dell XPS running that OS. That was before I built my own systems. Anyway, that PC must have generated hundred of errors report over it's two year life. Maybe it helped make 7 the stable dream that it is today. Yes, I really like 7 Pro 64 bit.

Looking way back, to XP. I always hated that OS. Not sure why is generally held in high regard.

Also did the Win 8 consumer trials. And I really hate it.

When I built my first home rig it had Vista, ugh it sucked. I used XP as long as I could until it was time to switch to Windows 7. I'll use 7 Pro as long as I can until I can move to the next non-Metro version of Windows.
