Hello Tomshardware! Im going to build my first computer and I have few concerns about the GPU, case and airflow. My main concern is whether to get the GTX 780ti SC reference or the GTX 780ti SC ACX. First let me say I prefer the Reference deign over the ACX design. My basic understanding that the ACX cooling is made more for cases with better air flow because it acts as an intake and the reference design is more for cases with less air cooling because it acts as an exhaust.

My air cooling plan for now would be top two fans Exaust. Rear fan would be Exaust. Two Front fans intake. Bottom fan intake.

Here are my question:

1. Which design is better for my case.

2. Which ever I pick which side is the best to put my PSU. Fan down or up. If you can explain why that would be great.

3. Even if I have great airflow in my case, would I be able still to use the reference design?

4. If I plan to add a water cooler for the CPU, the two top exhaust fans I would have to remove because of the radiator. Would this affect my choice for which card I should choose? Reference or non Reference.

5.Since the version of the Graphics card im getting is Super clocked wouldn't the SC Reference design be a bad choice
since when a card is super clocked it generates more heat?

6. Should I add a side fan whether or not its reference or non reference.

7. Lastly should I go for the 500r Corsair if it has better airflow.

Im not sure if im looking to much into this but it would be great if you guys can explain. Thanks and sorry for all the questions!

I'm running a lexa S case with 1 front and side intake and 2 rear exhaust, 3 of the fans are 140mm and the side is 120. I'm running an open air 280x and my temps are cool. GPU barely breaks 60 and my OC'd cpu hits maybe 62.

I think you'll be fine, but personally I only buy cases with a side intake as it allows air to go directly go the GPU, but you have 2 extra fans, you'll be fine.
