First off, I already had windows installed. Had to reboot and black screen said, "media failure" inserted ASUS disk. Gives me 2 choices. A.) Make AMD B.) Freedos command promt. I tried A and inserted a blank disc but that didn't work. Idk what to put for B. HELP......

estanie - could you be a little clearer about what you want? Do you want to get back to booting Windows? Or, as the previous poster interpreted it, do you want to know how to use freedos? Or are you trying to make a DOS disk?

Was there a disk in the drive when you booted? If not, the "media failure" may have unfortunately referred to your hard drive. Make sure its data cable is secure on both ends. Also make sure it shows up in the BIOS, and is correctly identified. How long had it been working? Days? Years?
I was so frustrated and had no idea what to do so I will have my stepfather erase everything and start fresh. Unsure why it said media failure and completely shut down but hopefully my stepfather can repair it. What was I suppose to do? "blue screen of death" shows up and screwed up my computer?! *DEPRESSED
