Memory upgrade issues

I recently bought a new RAM stick for my Dell Inspiron 15 (N5040). There's two slots for RAM and the system is maxed out at 8GB. I had 1GB in slot 1, and 2 GB in slot two. I decided to replace the 1GB with a 4GB module. I took a look at Newegg, Dell, and Crucial's memory finders to find out what sort of memory I needed and I decided on the G.Skill DDR3-1333 PC3-10600 CL9 1.5V.

When I replaced the memory with the new module, Windows 7 would not load. I have a 64-bit Windows 7 Home Premium OS, and I know that allows me to expand to the full 8GB of memory.

I put the old RAM back in temporarily.

Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong here? Any help would be greatly appreciated. If you need anymore info just ask.

Unfortunately, I've tried this, and in one slot it puts the PC on endless start-up loop, and the other it just doesn't boot. I'm assuming there's something wrong with the module. Any guesses?
