I'm working on a school project , I filmed some stuff with a friend and the files are just a single AVCHD file , it I see the package contents it shows me the files and they're .mts , I was thinking of converting them to MP4 since it's a more versatile format, but would I lose too much quality doing that? Which format would be minimize the quality loss? What I'm doing right now is opening the clips and exporting them on quicktime to a 1080p .mov file , but I have no control whatsoever over the settings (quicktime does it automatically) and besides it's taking me forever since I'm exporting one clip at a time, I need something to do it at once :(

1. Converting AVCHD to MP4 will not loss much quality, so don't worry.

2. Batch convert AVCHD files to MP4 or MOV, you need some professional program.

After a little bit of digging, I found a solution to convert AVCHD to MP4 or MOV on Mac or Windows from Macrumors.

This way supports converting AVCHD files recorded by Panasonic, Sony, Cannon or other camcorders to MP4 format without quality loss. And it also supports to convert AVCHD to to AVI, AVCHD to MOV, AVCHD to WMV, AVCHD to ASF, AVCHD to FLV, AVCHD to WebM, AVCHD to OGV, etc.

Hope it will help you more or less.
