I have brought my laptop to a computershop for upgrading DDR 2 memory, normaly my laptop must recognice 4 GB DDR2. Whem they put 2 x 2 GB in the slots, it doesn't boot. 2 GB in 1 slot and it works great but is slow. Can I put a 4 GB DDR 2 in 1 slot or is this too much for my laptop? I allready ran a bios update, still nothing with 2 slots memory. Now I have it fully running on Ready boost, it's faster, but not what I wanna have.
I hope someone can help me, my laptop only has to run out my course that I'm following now. So it has to work just over 1 year at high performance.

Thanks for helping me.

Did you try 1 stick in 2 both the slots? Or is it that you were saying, you did that and system ran slower? If the stick doesn't work fine in both the slots,I guess it's something with the slot. Don't worry your system can handle the 4GB,whether it be 2x2 or 1x4....

I have had trouble in the past with sticks of RAM from the same manufacturer and specification but just a different manufacturing batch. I suggest that you remove the 2GB stick and replace it with a single 4GB stick.

Yes the sticks are compatible, same frequency and they are a pack of 2 x 2 GB, Corsair.
There's is a problem with the bios I guess.
Thanks for the support.

Yes they are perfectly the same, a pack of 2 times 2 gb. 800Mhz DDR 2 . The laptop I bought in 2010 new, and it hasn't got any ram upgrade. In the manual it's recommended to put 2 x 2 gb DDR2 memory with a 64 bit version off windows 7.

It run's good with only 2 gb, when I'm in the class it's getting slow when office and internet are open at the same time.
My laptop was 2 weeks ago in a local computershop, for upgrading ram and resetting defaults. It has no upgrade off ram, the default are repaired, Then I went surfing at home for solutions for speeding up my laptop, ready boost gives me a little better speed, but it has not inproved the working when more programs are running at the same time.
