Intel i5 4670k(Haswell) Abnormal Temps

About two weeks ago I rebuilt my rig entirely, and I put a non OC 4670k in the rig with the stock heatsink(have yet to find a heatsink that actually fits this mobo). I started feeling performance issues that would indicate a possible overheating processor(I.E. Load being high when just idle, performance/speed decrease, etc.), so I downloaded CoreTemp and decided to check my processor's temp. What I found was that it literally is always reading at 99-100C, sometimes reading at about 85C right as I start up, but almost immediately reaching 99-100, and staying there whether it's idle or under load. I figure broken sensor is forcing misread temps, because my processor should be destroyed by now if that was the case, yet I'm still experiencing less performance than I originally was, and quite significantly, too. GPU temps are quite normal, even under load (29C for an EVGA GeForce 760Ti w/ 2GB VRAM), so I practically ruled that out. Any possible ideas?

To Update: The stock heatsink is installed correctly, I've reinstalled it, and it IS touching, that's relatively clear to anyone who has half a clue what they are doing. The motherboard and my RAM are all so tight and fitted with several components that dont allow any non-stock heatsinks I have on hand to fit, that's what I meant.

You mentioned,"(have yet to find a heatsink that actually fits this mobo)". If the heatsink is not fitted properly or doesn't go in all the way then the heatsink isn't making contact with the cpu thus the cpu becoming overheated.

Sounds like you havent installed the heatsink correctly, and its throttling like crazy. It woulnt be destroyed by that temp, but massively lowered speed and voltage.

Reinstall the heatsink/fan. Make sure you lock in the pushpins correctly.

+ 1. There are tons of coolers that fit socket 1150.
