msi r9 270x hawk vs sapphire r9 270x toxic

Solution
They are both good with the edge going to the Toxic, if the price is the same I would go with the Toxic but if savings are to be had I would go with the Hawk.

Definitely TOXIC

For AMD ATI Readeon always go for Sapphire or Asus
TOXIC IS way better....

See this you will come up with a conclusion that Sapphire R9 270X TOXIC is better .

Sapphire TOXIC :http://www.tweaktown.com/reviews/5816/sapphire-radeon-r9-270x-2gb-toxic-video-card-review/index.html

MSI HAWK : http://www.tweaktown.com/reviews/5923/msi-radeon-r9-270x-2gb-hawk-overclocked-video-card-review/index.html

But if you are on a tight budget go with MSI , but still i recommend to get Sapphire .

Hope that helps B)

..just make sure the gfx fit ur other rig components .

and msi hawk cards looks much better and over clockable

Okay first the Toxic test was made with a higher version of cataclyst 13.5 ! vs 13.11 on the hawk.
________________Toxic:_______________________Hawk:
3DMark11________2717________________________2734<- Winner
3D Mark Firestrike _2991________________________3092<- Winner
Unigine Heaven____2237________________________2375<- Winner
Phantasy Star_____5974 <-Winner________________5960
Lost Planet 2______76 fps_______________________78 fps<- Winner
Just cause 2______112 fps______________________120 fps<- Winner
F1 2012__________120 fps______________________130 fps<- Winner
Metro last Night____43 fps draw _________________43 fps <-draw
Dirt Showdown_____78 fps_______________________86 fps <-Winner
Nexuiz___________29 <-Winner__________________27 fps
Sniper Elite_______75 fps_______________________76 fps <-Winner

So if it is 2Gb Toxic vs 2 Gb Msi gaming, then take the Toxic
but if it is a 2Gb Toxic vs 2 Gb Msi Hawk, then take the Hawk
The Hawk has the older Cataclyst in the tests and still wins in most of them.

Hey I want to revive this thread as this is exactly what I'm looking for...

As far as max overclock is concerned which card has an edge, what about the PCB layout, I guess both Hawk & Toxic are custom PCB. I don't know about the power delivery on these cards, I guess Toxic has better power delivery system but as Davidgilinsky said the military class components do matter in the long run...

Comment on the type of memory also, I'm chasing after getting a Hynix memory card but if Hawk has more OC ability in core then it doesn't matter...

yeah if i have to choose between those brands, ill go for the msi hawk edition. im not saying that the toxic is bad, but lets be realistic here msi has been around since i was a teen and one thing is for sure those guys are keep on advancing in terms of performance and aesthetics. a hawk version of 270x has lots of voltage conrollers. and the heatsink design is superb it has a different heatsink for the vrm , memory, and gpu for better cooling performance,
and what im attracted to the most is its military class components, these parts are definitely built to last, till these card can no longer play current games of the year 2018 maybe..

Can you confirm what memory do the MSI Hawk retail card comes with, it's an OC oriented card so it should be Hynix but I want to confirm, Toxic and Vapor-X are always guaranteed to have Hynix memory, this really matters in at-least the 270X due to it's 256-bit bus, had it been 512-bit like Hawaii or 384-bit like Tahiti it would have mattered less, but here it matters much, Hynix can get me high-speeds and so high bandwidth...

Thanks brother, I wasn't paying attention to the fact that MSI Hawk uses military class components, I didn't even know that it has different VRM/memory and GPU heatsinks...
