I have a few months old Fujitsu Lifebook AH532/G21 (i think).
I plugged in an old Samsung SyncMaster LCD monitor via VGA, and a black bar taking about 2-5% of the screen on the left side appeared.
I've tried everything to remove it, but it won't go off?
I checked the scaling of the GPU, but the settings were OK.

What could I do, thanks?

Solution
Your GPU scaling isn't the problem here. Also try toying around with different resolutions. If that doesn't work, I think what's happening is that your actual monitor's hardware settings are a bit skewed. If you go into the monitor's settings by using the buttons on it, you should be able to toy around with the settings until you find something along that starts to move the image around. That should fix the problem!

Good Luck!

Well that was simple...
Just pressed the "Auto" button on the monitor!

Thanks!
