pc specs !
pentium 4 3ghz
512+256 mb ddr ram
intel d101g mobo
2 hdds
win xp 32 bit
iball lpe233-400 psu
i recently bought powercolor ati hd 5450 1 gb ddr3 graphic card !
hd videos were ok but when i played counter strike 1.6 ! it lagged like hell! 20-30 fps! what is the problem?

Solution
I dont think it would matter what card you put in it, a pentium 4 3ghz is a single core cpu ! count your self lucky you are getting 30fps

The gfx card is doing its job decoding HD video, it doesnt need your cpu for that.

So if i want to get a new processor (compatible with my MOBO and of course second hand) which one would be the fastest among the slowest ! if you know what i mean ! this mobo supports p4 ,celeron and pentium d ! i guess pentium d is the fastest ! but can u give me a specific model ?

You would honestly have to check your mobo manual for a list of supported CPU's. I dont even know what socket you have. Pentium 4 cpus are so old I dont remember anything about them.
I guess a Pentium D is at least dual core, and I guess your board would support them.

Maybe its just time to upgrade machines ?
