my question is i have a thermaltake black widow 850watt that has natively (on the cables that aren't modular) it has 1 6 pin and one 6 pin with a extra 2 pins (that click toghether to make "8" pin) so would my "8" pin connector supply 150watt or only 75watt. BTW this isn't an adapter this is part of the cabling coming off of the power supply.

This is exact picture of my connectors(plus other connectors) straight from newegg for any more help:
http://images10.newegg.com/NeweggImage/productimage/17-...

If needed here is my PSU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

The reason im asking is that i have a Gigabyte GTX 770 4Gb 256-bit coming in the mail: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

And from the looks of the image it is powered by 1 8-pin and 1 -6pin.

Thanks for your help!

EDIT: Links weren't working....

Alright i updated the links I didn't realize they weren't working. But even tho it's split into 6+2 it still provides 150watt power through it?

scroll down to the paragraph underneath

6+2 pin PCI Express power cable

but to answer your question directly: YES!

a bit indepth; usually there is 18awg wire and each one can supply just under 100 watts each but you really don't want each wire to go that high. official specs are 75 watts for 6 pin and 150 for 8 pin.

because some older, cheaper PSUs use two wires instead of three for the 6 pin ( i haven't seen one of those in a long time) the two other 2 wires on the 8 pin (black) are just sensors to let the card know that there are three yellow wires of 12 volts so it can use 150 watts through the connection.

much less indepth: you're all good to go bro!

That power supply has the right connections and 69 amps on the 12 rail , easily sufficient for the 770.

doesn't that PSU have two 6 pin and two 8 (6+2) power connections? i ask because it may not be wise to use a molex to 8 pin adapter with that.
