So the graphics card box advertises Nvidia GeForce GT 630 2048MB DDR3. Once installed looking under system information-display it says NVIDIA GeForce 6150SE nForce 430. What is going on here??

Either its not what it should be or something isnt installed properly.

The is the image of a computer with both integrated and discrete graphics installed. The on-board graphics are embedded with the motherboard. If you did not install the 630GT, you would have to connect your monitor to the on-board ports of the motherboard, as represented by either points "F" or "G" in the images above.

The installation of the graphics card would give you several extra ports on the rear of the system as represented by point "M" in the image above. With the graphics card installed, you should connect your monitor to either point "N" or "O".

Now, in Control Panel under Device Manager, you should see an image similar to the one below...

My username is for real. I am just getting started in this world of PC. It is very confusing to me. All I know is this computer would run Bioshock perfectly before the graphics card went out. This one was installed and wont even support bioshock. Everything Ive found in the system info says it is a different card than what is supposed to be in the box. This hardware was purchased from Dell which is kinda crappy if the box had the wrong product inside it, which is what Im thinking had happened. Its past the timeframe to return it, I just want to get to where I can play DayZ standalone. ;)
Edit* Driver software is up to date...showing NVIDIA GeForce 6150SE nForce 430....the device was supposed to be GeForce GT 630 2048MB DDR3

With your monitor connected to your 630GT graphics card, you should see something similar to this image. However, instead of it saying NVidia Geforce FX 5200, it should say something like NVidia Geforce 630GT

If it does not say this (or something similar) and your monitor is connected to your graphics card, that tells me the drivers for the card were not installed correctly. Since you say this system and the card are both Dell products, you should be able to download and install drivers directly from Dell.

If you go here and click on the Detect My Product button, it should tell you exactly what drivers you need to install.

If you need further help we're here, but we'll need as much information/images as you can get to us.

with the monitor plugged into port "N" the monitor goes black or "goes off". When I tried to install the drivers from Nvidia the installer cannot find compatible hardware.

Hmm... that should work. You may want to consider booting your system in safe mode.

When I tried to install the drivers from Nvidia the installer cannot find compatible hardware.

The second part of my second comment gave you a new link to Dell with the drivers you probably need; not the ones from NVidia (since this is a card from Dell).

Umm...haha...just for giggles i pulled the card out...looked at very sternly and threatened to throw it out, put it back in and it worked. I dont think it was seated properly.
