Started ~3 weeks ago w/ a crash or two a day, becoming more frequent with time up until the point where it would boot loop.

Over the course of a week and a half it began to become more stable to where I could be on for 4 days w/o a crash.

More recently it has been gradually becoming more frequent again, lasting about 20-30 mins without crashing.

System specs:
Athlon II x3 455 3.3ghz CPU
Antec Basiq 550w PSU
PNY 4gb(1x4gb) 1333mhz RAM
GTX 660 2gb GPU
Hitachi 250gb HDD
Asrock 970 Extreme3 Motherboard

Attempted fixes:
- Swapped PSUs
- Swapped HDDs
- Ran Windows 8, Windows Vistax32, Windows 8.1, Ubuntu
- Disabled automatic reboot upon failure
- Reseated all components
- Ran motherboard outside of case
- Swapped GPUs
- Unplugged all unnecessary parts
- Updated BIOS
- Disabled unnecessary drivers
- Updated all drivers
- Ran chkdsk
- Swapped SATA cables + slots
- Defragmented HDD
- Ran Safe Mode
- Changed RAM Slots
- Changed all BIOS settings to manual (ex CPU Voltage to 1.375 instead of auto)
- Changed RAM Command Rate to 2T
- Changed RAM Voltage to 1.55V
- Checked for physical deformities in MB
- Returned CPU to stock speed after first crash
- Monitored Temperatures (CPU idles at ~30C, load is ~50C)
- Removed additional appliances from the power strip
- Cleaned out all dust
- Ran stress tests on GPU, CPU, and RAM (see Notes)

Extra Info:
Ubuntu has only crashed twice, whereas Windows crashes very frequently. Occasionally the screen will freeze instead of rebooting. The hardware never turns off, the screen just goes black then proceeds to the post screen. There are no abnormal beeps. It crashes almost everywhere (even on Windows Installs), except when performing console commands (booting into cmd). The task does not have to be CPU intensive for it to crash. It will reboot while idle or even in sleep mode.

The crashing began after I OC'd my CPU to 3.9GHz and moved my computer across the room.

Notes:
Windows Memory Diagnostic shows no errors. Memtest freezes when I use it (display is still active, however the test stops and all input is ignored). After many attempts I got 2 passes w/o freezing, which showed no errors. Furmark does not cause crashes. Prime95 has mixed results, the computer can typically past a test or two, but randomly it will crash within 30 seconds of a test.

I think Your motherboard or ram or Power supply are bad.you at least need to run memtest for a few hours to confirm that your ram is fine.you could have damaged the cpu by overclocking or increasing voltage but you have put it back to stock clocks and it still doesnt work so im not too sure about that. When you get an unstable overclock you could have damaged it but most of the times overclocking doesnt damage cpu as long as your cpu can handle that voltage and is a good overclocker and your motherboard can handle overclocks. To confirm that the cpu is not the problem run prime95 for 4 hours you only runned it for half an hour.First try borrowing a stick of ram from someone or get a real cheap stick of ram and then try running the computer.Best of Luck :)

Thanks for your input.

I have tried 3 PSUs with 5 different power cables, ending with the same results. Memtest usually freezes at the 5 minute mark, however I got 2 passes in ~2 hours before. It will be difficult to run prime95 as my PC typically crashes within 30 mins, but i'll keep trying till I get lucky.

I'll buy RAM sometime this week and see if it does anything.

Interestingly done. I will try that... im desperate at this point. All you did reminded me of all the things i tried and didnt work. If you want more feedback, do a new post, it appears in the 1st page of the forum and more people see it. I can hardly help you with anything else, so good luck, i hope its solved.
