ASUS ROG Radeon HD 7970 X2 vs gtx 780 ti superclcoked gigabyte ghz edition
Basically what the title says. should i get the ASUS ROG Radeon HD 7970 X2 or the gtx 780 ti superclcoked gigabyte ghz edition as my gpu. I will be gaming at 1440p and i will mostly be using my gpu for extreme gaming, video editing and high en projects. To me prices don't matter. Even though the ASUS ROG Radeon HD 7970 X2 has better memory, bandwidth, texel rate, pixel rate, wider memory bus and more shader units i have heard better reviews from the gtx 780 ti superclcoked gigabyte ghz edition. So to repeat again should i get the ASUS ROG Radeon HD 7970 X2 or the gtx 780 ti superclcoked gigabyte ghz edition as my gpu.
they have the same amount of memory, since memory allocation in dual GPU set ups is limited to 1 card.
I would say get the GTX 780Ti, with the 7970s you get better performance for now but with no room to upgrade later, and AMD is less reliable with their crossfire updates than Nvidia is with their SLI profiles.
with the GTX 780Ti you get the single fastest gaming GPU on the market atm, CUDA acceleration if you ever use apps that use it, and you have the option of adding a second one in the future. I'm not totally sure what you mean by "high en projects" though (high end?), either way can't go wrong with a 780Ti, in both cases memory will be the main bottleneck anyway.
