What OS?
Assuming you have the original activation key, and we are talking Windows 7, you can download the official ISO file here:
http://www.w7forums.com/threads/official-windows-7-sp1-iso-image-downloads.12325/

Burn, install, activate.

you can download from digital rivers the windows iso image for free. the use a cd-rom burner software or iso maker to make a iso cd or use the windows iso to usb to make a bootable usb stick. with the newer mother board with efi bios the bootable usb sticks will show up under hard drives in the boot tab of the bios. you have to under hard drives set it to number one there and under boot set hard drive as first boot device. also on newer mb most efi bios have a choose a boot device at post by hitting one of of the f keys (f6/f10).

No, i plug it into the front USB port on my case, and before you ask yes, it is connected to my motherboard. but should i try connecting it to the motherboard instead. And also how would I install the bios if i download it because it comes in a .cad file type and the motherboard doesn't pick it up.

The exe Just downloads the .cap file and i don't know how to install it to update my motherboard.

on asus mb if your trying to update the bios by the usb flashback.
1.download the newest .cap file.
2. download the bios renamer program or rename the bios file per asus usb flashback.
3. put your fat32 formateed usb stick with the cap file in the usb flashback port on the back of the mb it marked.
4. with the power off on the motherboard press the usb flashabck button.
5. if the file is names right it takes abut 2-3 min. the port led will blink then turn off.
