Will an i5-3570k bottleneck a R9 290 3way crossfire much?

I have an i5-3570k at 4.2ghz right now. I plan to water cool, and get 4.5+ out of it. I have a MSI Z77A-GD65 motherboard. For those who may not be aware this particular board happens to share all the pcix3.0 lanes on all three pcix slots from the CPU(only with 3.0 cards). So you can have an 8x\4x\4x config. Only AMD will work with three cards on this board, because Nvidia requires 8x minimum for sli.

I was wondering if the i5 could keep up with the cards, and not loose the point of the third video card. I plan to run an eyefinity setup.

For those who many have a 3 way setup, does the third card offer much extra?

I have a Cooler Master Silent Pro Hybrid 1300 Watt PSU so power isn't an issue.

Thanks!

Most gaming won't be bottlenecked by CPU, but by GPUs. The i5 won't bottleneck it enough for you to notice. As for your SLI question, you won't see as significant a FPS increase as 2-way SLI, but it'll still help. Especially if your gaming at 2k on all 3 screens, or 4k on one screen.
