Basically what the title says. Should i get the radeon hd 7990 or the gtx 780 ti superclocked gigabyte ghz edition. All the games i play support dual gpus. I will be gaming at 1440p and i will mostly be using my gpu for extreme gaming, high end projects and video editing. I have also noticed that at 1440p the radeon hd 7990 has MUCH higher frame rates. So just to repeat should i get the radeon hd 7990 or the gtx 780 ti superclocked gigabyte ghz edition as my gpu.

Thank you

:)

the 7990 is indeed a faster card, but it is effectively 2 gpu's in one. it's power consumption is much higher than the 780ti. get whichever is cheaper and better suits what you play (also mantle will increase the performance of the 7990 by slightly more than it already is)

It looks like a factory overclocked GTX 780 Ti is going to be slightly faster. The Gigabyte GHz edition is going to run very similarly to the EVGA Classified in this review. It will also run cooler and more consistently than the 7990 and won't have any of the Crossfire driver problems and lack of game support. Did you know that Crossfire frame pacing still isn't fixed for DirectX 10 and OpenGL games?

Lastly, the 7990 will be much noisier than the GTX 780 Ti and is known for its horrible and annoying coil whine. The 7990 was discontinued after two months on the market for a reason.
