Do I have a laptop APU in my desktop? What are my options for upgrading?

Hi,

I wanted to upgrade my desktop's APU. I noticed in my search that my E1-2500 is actually reserved primarily to laptops. I know that some laptop components, like their APUs, are not upgradable. So my question is can I actually upgrade my CPU?

I know the other details of computer builds, just never came across my issue before.

I'll let you guys know my mobo ID when I get the chance (I'm at school right now).

Notebook APUs: http://www.amd.com/us/products/notebook/processors/a-series/Pages/laptop-apus.aspx#2

Possibly upgrade to this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819113359

Thanks all!

Solution
Yes AMD does occasionally put mobile cpus in cheap desktops, and no the cpu itself is not upgradeable without upgrading the motherboard as well.
