Hey guys, I'm a Console Pleb that just converted to PC, and i built one with my dad the other day. I installed windows 8.1 on it, but i have to use the TV (an older panasonic 52'') we have since we are all mac users and don't have a monitor that can support HDMI, And don't own a DVI to DVI cable. I installed all the Drivers And now it runs pretty well, except for one problem; It occasionally completely cuts off the video and just shows a blank screen, which can be undone by returning to the start menu, but the desktop just starts glitching out, and the application no longer putting out video. I've tried reconnecting the cable, but to no avail, It stays blank but still runs and puts out sound. So, any ideas about what my problem is?

There should be a setting somewhere in the depths of the menus of the tv to set it to pc mode, this will help, also make sure there is not something wrong with your video card (say run gpu-z and make sure the specs check out with what the interwebs say your video processor should be running at) takes a little google work, but it's actually a great tech learning experience. also try different cables, as well as invest in a hdmi to dvi cable

I actually have an HDMI to DVI cable, so that's fortunate. However, i don't think it is an error on the part of the TV because i've tested this out on a mac monitor and have gotten a similar effect, but chalked it up as the fault of the monitor being incapable of supporting the PC. I'll see what i can find in terms of what you mentioned for the GPU-Z thing and see what i can do based on your advice. Thanks!
