I have an AMD FX 8350 processor and an Asus Sabertooth 990FX R2.0 motherboard, can anyone help me with the fastest ram the two will support and how much ram I can get at this speed? (looking for 16GB+)

Officially, that processor+mobo combo can support 2xDIMM at 1866 MHz or below and 4xDIMM at 1600 MHz or below: http://support.amd.com/en-us/kb-articles/Pages/ddr3memoryfrequencyguide.aspx

So if you want 16 GB RAM and want to be safe and stay completely within manufacturer's specs but still have the fastest RAM frequency possible, get a 2x8 GB 1866 set with decent timings. If you want more than 16 GB, you will have to drop the frequency down to 1600 to populate all four DIMM slots.
