Trying to install win7 64bit oem disc on an xp 32 bit machine machine. Have done easy transfer. Do I have to reformat or what? Message says "to install a new copy of windows, restart (boot) your computer using the installation disc, the select custom". What am I missing?

Solution
you have to start the computer and go to the boot menu. this usually involves pressing one of the f keys like f2 or f8 or esc or delete.once into the boot menu select boot from cd/dvd.open the dvd burner and put your disk in.then press enter and ti will take you to the install screen.

I can't boot from the OEM disk because all the files are 64 bit and the xp won't run. Can't just insert oem disk and have it boot. I know that the hardware will run 64 bit. I am missing something, somewhere.
