Is my PC better than the PS4 and Xbox One?

Here's my PC:
Apevia X-Cruiser 3
Intel i5-4670K OC @ 3.8 GHz (100MHz x 38.0)
Astek 510LC 120mm Liquid Cooling CPU Cooler
2TB Toshiba DT01ACA200 SCSI SATA-III 7200 RPM
4GB x 2 A-Data Technology (800MHz 11-11-11-28-1T) DDR3/1600MHz 12800 MB/sec
Gigabyte Z87-HD3 ATX Motherboard
650 Watt Thermaltake ToughPower TP-650P 80 Plus Gold
Nvidia GeForce GTX 770 2GB EVGA Superclocked with ACX Cooling

I just got my new PC recently, and my friend got a PS4 not too long ago, and we were wondering how my PC compared to his PS4 and the Xbox One. I partially just want to rub my PCMasterRace in his face.

So, which one is more powerful?

    Your computer is considerably better.

Please do not rub anything in his face. This just furthers the stereotype that PC gamers are elitists and stuck up. This just adds to that.
  3. You smoke him
  4. By leaps and bounds better then both of them. The xbox one cant do 1080p either.

Go rub it in his face.
  5. Yes your PC is better than PS4 and Xbox One. However, do note that this won't do well in 7-8 years. I am amazed that games like Metro Last Light and Crysis 3 can run on 512mb RAM and GPUs like the Geforce 7800gs!
  6. The PS4 has an 8-core CPU at 1.6Ghz, and a GPU slightly less powerful than an AMD HD 7870.
Your PC is significantly more powerful than the PS4 in terms of CPU and GPU speed.

But it also cost you a significant amount more.

Is yours better?... Oh, He** Yes! And the XBox One too even if you could add them together.

Don't rub it in his face though, in the words of that man of peace Mr. T "I pity the fool". Just don't do it in front of him we need more like him to buy consoles to help AMD stay in business.

Oh, he knows I'm messing with him, we go back and forth when either of us get something new. He's dying to get a decent gaming PC, and I may help him build it.

I know what you mean! When I'm playing games like Blackflag, Last Light, and Farcry 3, I'm amazed at times that seven year old hardware can run them.

That it did. About three times as much. Then again, I save a ton on games with Steam. Borderlands 2 GOTY for $15? Yes please!
  11. yes your Pc is better by far, these next gen consoles are just laptops with dedicated gpu.
  12. If you take a APIs off table and merely compare hardware a PS4 has nearly 2 teraflops of computational power, while a 770 has 3.2 teraflops. Needless to say your hardware is more powerful but there are some would say a PS4 had nearly 4 teraflops of computational power due to optimization. So it really matters where you stand.

Regardless, no one is going to convince me that a console is superior to a PC. Hardware is only one of the many many reasons.

Would the fact that I have EVGA's Superclocked version affect the teraflops?
  14. No not really. Factory overclocked cards aren't really much if any different from the standard versions of the card. It really is mostly marketing.

Well, I got upgraded from the standard card for free, so I'm not really complaining. Plus it has the ACX cooler on it, so if I overclock it later it'll stay a lot cooler.

True, AMD makes Intel and Nvidia stay competitive, which is good for everyone.
  17. seriously there is no competition. your pc blows the ps4 and xb1 put together out of the water.
  18. I'm building my own PC and have never really had my own gaming PC before.
This will cost £550 and am stuck between this and a PS4. This is the very limit of my budget and I would really like to know if this will get a higher frame rate and resolution than a PS4. Specs below:
HDD: 1TB Seagate Barracuda ST1000DM003 3.5" SATA III Hard Drive
    CPU: AMD (Piledriver) FX-6300 3.50GHz (4.10GHz Turbo) Socket AM3+ 6-Core Processor
    MEMORY: 8GB (2x4GB) Crucial Ballistix Sport 1600MHz CL9 DDR3 Dual Channel Kit
GFX: Sapphire Radeon R9 270X Dual-X Boost OC AMD Graphics Card 2GB
MOBO: Gigabyte GA-970A-UD3P AMD Socket AM3+
    PSU:EVGA 500W 80 Plus Power Supply

I am new to PC gaming and would really appreciate any help!
