Your power supply meets and exceeds what you need.

I would guess your system will pull 300-350 under demanding games. This does not mean get a 300-350 watt power supply. Having extra is always good. Also always ensure the power supply has most of its power on the 12 volt rail(since it is what is used). Again, your power supply should be a perfect fit for high efficiency when gaming(they reach peak at about half load).

600 watts is fine as long as your not planning on heavy OCing. In my experience, Corsair's CX series is reliable but definitely a budget PSU. Go with one of their other models or something from Antec or Seasonic

It is still being tested(Unless I am misreading).

Lucky for users these extra power savings options are not on by default(or at least that is what motherboard makers are saying). With things like video cards and hard drives in the system, the idle 12 volt current should still be high enough to avoid issues.

I put a CX500 in my parents DELL OPTIPLEX 955 , 5 months ago and it died yesterday.Ordered a XFX 550 should be here thursday.

I just don't trust the CX Series.

With that experience I would tend to say I do not blame you.

Could be a fluke, but who knows. Have you had lots of CX units fail?

Well that sucks for sure. I mean 2 out of who knows how many WDC drives in YEARS has not scared me away(everyone has product failures.), but 2 out of 7 is bad odds.

Op if you are reading this, maybe reconsider based on issues with the line as opposed to pure wattage(a number that was more than enough).

I must be lucky, I have used some cheap(not bad, just value models) power supplies in the past without issues at all.

My only other RMA was an ASROCK 990FX EXTREME 9 board.

Not bad considering all the hardware I purchase.

just driving by:

you ought to take this article on hardware.fr with a grain of salt since they never mention the source but:
Return rates of components (9)
(translated w/chrome)
Quote:
- Fortron / FSP Group 0.49% (against 0.99%)
- 0.61% BeQuiet (against 1.15%)
- Antec 1.33% (against 1.23%)
- Cooler Master 1.52% ( against 0.98%)
- Seasonic 1.6% (against 2.36%)
- Thermaltake 1.87% (against 1.98%)
- Akasa 1.92% (N / A)
- Corsair 1.96% ( against 2.18%)
- Cougar 2.41% (N / A)

FSP Group recovers lost first place at the last publication, while Cooler Master down in the rankings. BeQuiet that was previously entered in the 3rd position also earns a spot. Cougar between the last position and last Akasa in front, with rates that are, however, not catastrophic. No power has been more than 5% rate of return over the period. Otherwise, here are the 5 most supplies that are returned: - 4.86% Cougar ST-350 - Corsair CX600 V2 4.76% - 4.46% Thermaltake SP-550MPCBEU - Corsair CX500 V2 4.19% - 4 13% Cooler Master Silent Pro M2 850

Interesting.

FSP(not always well regarded, but I have never had issues with them) is known to cut some parts out to make a budget(the MOV[surge protection] is the first to go), but I have only EVER seen one die(it was old too).
