Ive been trying to overclock my FX-8350 and can not seem to find any success doing so. Anytime that I try to overclock, a BSoD appears after a while. I can't even use Asus Optimal settings without getting a BSoD. Sometimes I can play for hours while OC's, sometimes not even 10 mins. I have monitored my temps and my CPU core temp has not surpassed 40c. The highest that I have OC'd is 4.4ghz. I did a memory test with prime95 while overclocked and core 5 and 6 failed. I have put everything back on default settings for over a week and have yet to experience a BSoD and none of my cores fail during a memtest.

I WinDBG my Blue screen and it was giving me the following message: Probably caused by : ntoskrnl.exe ( nt+a4182 ) which is usually a hardware issue. I dont think it's my CPU because its not even 2 months old.

I replaced my RAM yesterday to 2x8GB Kingston HyperX.

I'd love to OC my 8350 bc I know that they are great in doing so. Does anyone have an idea on what the issue could be? Maybe my mobo can't handle the OC?

SPECS:

GPU: Sapphire 7970
MOBO: Asus m5a97 le r.20
PSU: eXtreme Power Plus 700W

Exactly. Every overclocker should learn the theory of OC and do so manually.

I finally have it running stable at 4.5ghz with my voltage at 1.45. My core temp is at a high of 45 and low of 21 through about an hour torture testing in prime 95.
