Hey Guys! I have an Msi mobo paired with a amd phenom ii x4 965 BE and I have overclocked it to 4GHz with a voltage of 1.45 and the Maximum temp i have been given is on Prime95 with 54°c and I want to go further. However, I am afraid that my board won't be able to handle the temps. Can someone tell me from their experience with motherboards how hot the board can get before hitting the danger zone.

Your board will be fine its the CPU you want to keep an eye on. Also it wouldn't bump the voltage past 1.5v as it may cause damage to the chip over extend periods. CPU dependent but 72*c is about the limit for everyday use (1 off benchmarking then you can go a little higher but try to stay 1.5v or less or you risk permanent CPU damage) again CPU dependent.
