Memory Slot Assistance with Gigabyte Motherboard

Alright. So I just received my Motherboard back from Gigabyte and the second RMA for the infinite boot loop. I reinstalled all my components, turned it on, and BOOM. Infinite boot loop again. I am 30 years old, and almost started crying. (Not really. But I was sad).

So I began the normal testing (It had to be some sort of fixed to come back to me, right?) and found the issue. My two ram slots closest to the motherboard cause a boot loop when there's memory inserted. I tried both sticks in the left two slots individually, and I got the boot loop with each stick. I tried each stick individually in the right two slots, and the system booted.

Now that you have the background, my question:

Is there any sort of risk if I put two 4 gig sticks in the right slot. I know I won't get dual channel speed, but will it be detrimental compared to just one 4 gig stick and is there any sort of risk of damaging the motherboard further?

I feel like it won't cause an issue, but wanted to run it by the community before I do something that could cause me to be forced to get a third RMA In a year's time. (Seriously Gigabyte.)

Thank you Tom's Hardware Community!

Solution
no, there won't be any harm using Single Channel Configuration of Ram. But I would expect upto 10-15% performance difference in typical benchmarks. So you don't have to worry about anything other than loosing a bit of performance :D
