Hi all,i builded a new PC before one year and i have a strange problem .In the beginning when i was trying to start up my PC i had so signal to monitor at all.I tried to boot with one stick of ram but with no success,i also tried with another gpu and i had signal ,to finish with i tried with a different psu and with my new gpu and again i had signal .So i started to wonder what was the cause of the problem, so i tested the gpu on another build and it was booting normally. So i suspected that the psu was the cause but after a few days the pc was booting normally. After 6 months later when i tried to start up my PC it has no signal and after a few restarts it had signal again , and that is happen even now.So i tried to flash the newest bios ,but with no success ,i also tried to boot with integrated graphics and with no gpu but again with no success .So i still suspect that the cause is the psu but i need your opinion before any further research on this problem.Any ideas about what is happening with my PC build?

Thanks in advance! and sorry for my bad english :)

Hmmm... Which slot is the Graphics card installed in? I own a P8Z77 board, I have never encountered this issue.

I'd ask you to ensure that the card is in the slot that can accommodate it that is closest to the CPU. The specs you provided don't offer us much to work with. For example are you using onboard audio or are you using a sound card?

I had an issue when I installed two GeForce 670's in SLI mode with a Creative X-Fi Titanium PCIe Sound Card. The system would either crash repeatedly or refuse to detect the second Video Card until I pulled the Creative Sound card out. The issue (I believe) came down to how the card tried to access shared resources, you could be encountering something similar if you have additional hardware installed in the machine.

thanks for the reply!

KK, thanks for the update, much appreciated! Your system looks quite modest and by that I mean it doesn't have lots of hardware poking out of every slot, the next best suggestion I can make, would be to either, try the card in a different machine and see how it responds after a few uses and restarts, and maybe trying a different card in your machine. This will help identify exactly where the problem lies, is it the card (maybe a faulted power connector or dry joint) or, is it the motherboard with a slot issue.

Trying the card in another slot on the motherboard may not produce the required result since most boards are setup in a way that requires the slots be populated in order; to facilitate resource allocation.

I tried the gpu in a different machine and it is working.I also tried a different card in the machine and it worked too.I also noticed another thing.I said before that the PC recognize the GPU after a few restarts but the thing that is actually happens is that the PC needs to boot without recognizing gpu and let it stay in that condition for about 15 minutes. Then after a restart it will boot with graphics. If i dont let the pc boot and stay on for about 15 minutes it will not detect graphics at all.

Now that is an unusual state. Both the GPU and the motherboard are functional but when the GPU is placed in the system with the P8Z77 the GPU functions only to a point. I would suggest that the PSU might be an issue but I actually own one of those PSU's and they are pretty good.

This could simply be a case of hardware incompatibility. It may be worthwhile to go to the Asus website and see if there is an updated system BIOS for your Motherboard, then apply the new BIOS and re-try the card, otherwise (and I dislike this) you may need to investigate an alternative Video Card or Mobo, unless there are other avenues that can be pursued on Toms Hardware.

You have however, done a great job on diagnosing the problem so far, good work. I only wish there was more I could offer.

Ok ,I will try to update the bios then.Another thing is that the mobo does NOT recognize either the GPU or the INTEGRATED GRAPHICS
