I have a HP XW6400 pc ay home, I recently purchased a Arianet X-Viper 550W psu to install in the system.
The motherboard has 24pin connector and a 4pin connector on it, but the PSU comes with 20+4pin connector and a 4+4 pin connector.
I have been told I can get a 20pin to 24pin convertor to make this work.
Is that correct? Or will I kill the motherboard?
Any help appreciated.
Cheers

Do HP wire their PSUs differently to most? I have been told dell do, and that HP might

SO, finally got some info from HP. They don't like helping at all with an out of waranty unit.
There are no other PSUs available for this machine is all they would tell me.

As for soldering and re-wiring the new psu I have, I am not too keen on that idea. So I have decided to just get a new motherboard.
