I am going to buy GPU: Sapphire AMD/ATI Radeon R7 240 with Boost 1 GB DDR5 Graphics Card from www.flipkart.com the link is as follows http://www.flipkart.com/sapphire-amd-ati-radeon-r7-240-boost-1-gb-ddr5-graphics-card/p/itmdqz8pvbrhcmut?pid=GRCDR9MDUVT6EESQ&otracker=from-search&srno=t_4&query=sapphire+amd%2Fati+radeon+hd+6670+1gb+ddr5+graphics+card&ref=e8c42918-288e-4251-9abe-9930964bfed3.

My question is will I need a power supply for this GPU or not.

Solution
This card does not appear to require an additional power connection from the power supply. It should draw all the power it requires directly from the PCI-E slot. However, the specs state a 400 watt power supply is recommended. If your current power supply is significantly less than that, a new power supply may be required.

Your PSU is likely fine.

The card as said requires no PCIe power connections. It only draws up to 75W of power. There are very few normal PC power supplies that wouldn't handle that.

I can't be certain but probably any quality 300W or better PSU would work. It also depends on what CPU you have (and if overclocked) and other parts of course.

A lower wattage PSU could work, but I couldn't guarantee that without knowing all the specs.

Off the cuff I would say 30watt/hr PCIe power draw most of the time but I would go with @PhotonBoy's response.

I installed a sister to this model ASUS ATI RADEON R7 240 2GB DDR3 (yes your model is 1GB DDR5 but when the memory is faster than the GPU there isn't a point IMHO).

However the manual states (ASUS ATI RADEON R7 240 2GB DDR3) for minimum 400watt/hr power supply (with a 12V current rating of 24AMP).
