i got the Gigabyte R9 280X Windforce x3

Looking at the bios update. Little confused as to whether or not im on the latest etc.

The VGA Bios tool from Gigabyte shows the following: GV-R928XOC-3GD.F60

GPU-Z Shows the following: 015.038.000.003.003435

Gigabyte Bios Page shows: F12 and F3. which one do i take ?

Is there an update and how important is it to do this?

Gigabyte seem to be causing a little confusion here!

If the card is working with no issues, forget about anything with bios, just concern yourself with keeping up to date with the video drivers. That is what keeps it up to date. This seems to be a growing trend of the card makers throwing the bios word around to make it sound like it's better than the other makers card, I.e. double bios etc. . Drivers only forget bios on a working card.

Wow two totally useless answers. Why these people bothered to press keys on the keyboard for nothing is beyond me. I have the same card. It has intermittent locking up issues that seem to be hardware related. Rather than replacing the card I thought why not check and see if there is a bios update. Gigabyte website says there is-however the flash utility will not allow either of these updates to be applied. GV-R928XOC-3GD.F60 seemingly has no update. However, I saw on a couple of websites a download for a file called GV-R928XOC-3GG.F70 but I'm very hesitant to try it. Has any one tried this??

Were you ever able to solve your problems computerguy72?

I've had a GV-R928XOC-3GD.F60 for about 6 months and it driver crashes like crazy. I've had positive results in lowering the clock speed, running beta drivers and running a completely clean install of windows but it still crashes often. It used to crash in game (CS:GO, LoL, Batman, Borderlands) and now only crashes in windows. (every 30 minutes)

On the Gigabyte page it even says that us shouldn't take a bios that its different than the original.

"You can only update to a VBIOS version of the same series.
If your VBIOS version is:
F1, it can only be updated with VBIOS versions F2-F9.
F10, it can only be updated with VBIOS versions F11-F19.
F20, it can only be updated with VBIOS versions F21-F29.." So i would suggest not trying the 70 bios as tits different form 60-69 i just wanna know how im suppose to update the bios because i havent found another version for 60 and the current version i have is laging like crazy in games such as bf4 causing artifacts and it cant run games that i used to run on ultra such as skyrim. Pls some 1 help i just wanna play games on ultra in 1080p is that too much to ask .
