Hey guys!

I'm in the final stages of planning a new PC and I have all the parts except a PSU. I, like a lot of people seem to get stuck on this seemingly easy, but diabolical part to choose. My goal is to get at least a 1000W PSU, purely because my specs require roughly ~800W without including optical and hard drives. Ideally I'd like a 1200W with the ambition to eventually add a second GPU down the track. And also the fact that I intend on OC for most of the components.

My specs are as follows:
GB Sniper-Z87
i7-4770K
Gskill Tridentx 16GB (2x8) @ 2400
Sapphire R9-290x-Trix
Thermaltake Chaser A71 Tower

Along with those, I'm simply putting across my current optical and hard drives from the computer I use now, which are a blue ray and a 2TB/750GB (seagate for HDD and can't remember optical)

I'd really appreciate any help or advice that can be given, and just as a side note I usually have my computer turned on fairly constantly, so something around the 80+ Gold would be good unless a Bronze is more than adequate. I've done substantial amounts of research on this, but even after hours of looking at most of the PSUs out there, I've come to the conclusion that the only way to truly find out what's better is hope someone else has actually used them and can offer advice on their experience!

Thanks in advance!

Aaron :)

Nope, it uses a little bit more than a standard 290x

750 w power supply required, most companies ask for specifications much higher than what is actually needed, so a 600w PSU should be fine

Thats it, nothing else needed.........even if you decide to add on more gpu's,ram, hdd, fans or fancy fairy lights;)

Although it does not require the power supply i mentioned i think it would be nice to accommodate for future add ons. FUTUREPROOF.
