Looking for 1 "jack-of-all-trades" monitor for gaming and photos or 2 w/ similar physical appearances but diff internals

Given the current state of monitor technology, this may seem like a strange question. However, I am hoping to find a happy medium!

From my understanding, the very things that make a monitor great for gaming, will make it equally as bad for photography. TN panels have faster refresh rates and response times, while IPS panels have the best color reproduction. While there are certainly monitor types that try to achieve the best of both worlds, I have not found one that does so well.

Assuming there is not a monitor out there that meets the requirements for both use cases, is there a set of monitors that share the same physical foot print and appearance while simultaneously have completely different internals? Call me OCD, but I want a monitor set up were someone can walk into a room and not tell the difference between the monitors on outward appearance alone. Obviously, with the screen on, I would hope they would be able to tell the difference.

TL;DR
I am looking for either:

1 monitor that is good for both gaming and photography - high response time and refresh rate with the best color reproduction and viewing angles possible.

or

2 monitors that appear exactly same in regards to physical appearance, but are completely different internally. One would be used for gaming, the other photography.

Thanks for you help!

Edit: would this be something to meet a little bit of everything? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824236335

Dell U2312HM, or the U2412H.

The U2312HM is one of the best IPS screens for gaming, with some of the best lag times around, even compared to TN screens, plus the benefits of an IPS screen with lovely, lovely colours. Only downside if the anti-glare coating, which I personally found a bit too much. But you're not going to get a high refresh rate, hell you won't get a screen with a high refresh rate and decent colours all in one, you might have to wait until 120hz IPS panels start becoming a bit more mainstream.

I'd love to try recommend another monitor, but for an all-round screen nothing really stands out against it.
