My Asus Maximus VI Hero and 4670k have been working great since building the machine two days ago. The problem is when it idles after about 30 minutes my whole computer will freeze. The reset button doesn't even work. I am guessing this is an issue with the MOBO since all the other parts aside from CPU were from my other build.

Anyone ever heard of this?

OK. Go to your power supply's manufacturer page to find out if your PSU is compatible with Haswell or google it. Also try to disable all the CPU low power states in your BIOS.I forgot to mention that there also is a known issue with USB3.0 controller of your motherboard's chipset. If your Z87 chipset belongs to the older revision and not the new (C2) it might have issues with USB3 devices like flash drives, causing BSOD. So try to remove everything from USB3 ports and to try to see if it changes anything .If you try all of the above and the situation doesn't change, you might have a faulty motherboard.

check the website as updates from the disc are always old where the website offers the latest updates and fixes check there!
also windows has over 100 updates at first so it could take a week to find all the updates.

I just went to the site and did everything but flash the BIOS.

Asus Maximus VI Hero
intel 4670k in turbo mode
Nvidia gtx 760 ( I just redid the drivers to a stable version rather than beta.)
Patriot 1333 RAM
Seagate HDD

I think the problem is the PSU, if it is old, as you said. There is a known compatibility issue with Haswell and older power supplies. When Haswell cpus get into low power states older power supplies have issues with them because they can't support the very low current that these CPUs need.Check your BIOS and try to disable the low power states or change your PSU.

I'm sorry I forgot to mention the PSU, I just bought it, Ultra LSP 750 80+ bronze

I also tried to see if it was the display possibly turning off that did it and it was not. It seems to be whenever my PC idles for an amount of time.
