WD Green or Seagate Barracuda?

I ordered a Seagate Barracuda as it was about £8 cheaper than the WD green, so I decided to test it out. Over 3k bad sectors, and corrupt files everywhere, after just a week of use. I was told to return it, which I did.

However, I get a full refund from it (Amazon), should I buy a new one, or go for the WD Green? Basically, the read/write speed aren't "too" important, but more the loading time in games.

I saw the: http://www.maximumpc.com/article/reviews/western_digital_caviar_green_2tb - It says access time is a bit faster on the Seagate one, but how much would that actually help?
I mainly need it for games, and not have my OS on it. (I have it on a WD 300GB old one). So mostly games.

At the moment, they're currently at the same price.

Thanks.

Go for the WD HDD. Seagate drives have been shown to have a high failure rate in many tests. For example, this one: http://www.pcworld.com/article/2089464/three-year-27-000-drive-study-reveals-the-most-reliable-hard-drive-makers.html

That was what I thought.

However, how big of an impact would the WD Green Caviar give me, compared to the Seagate one?

Edit: When it comes to loading maps etc.

Western Digital seems like it has better read times. I have a Western Digital HDD, and it is very fast compared to Seagate drives that I have had in the past. They are now pretty close, though.

Well, World of Warcraft mainly. All the other games, I couldn't care less about loading time. Oh well, the faster the better, right?

In about six months or so, I'll get an SSD, but I really need a HDD atm.

I don't know which HD to buy but I´m sure which one not to. I would never buy again a WD Green Caviar HD.
I bought a WD My Book Live Duo with two 3 Tb HDs.
The performance of this NAS HD is ridiculous. It has really slow data transfer rates and eternal connection times. It also hangs very often.

After this experience, I tried to insert the two WD Green Caviar HDs in another NAS box that a friend lent me. Even though it behaved better, the performance was much worst than the same box with Seagate drives (I don't remember the exact model).

After this I read in some forums about the WD Green Caviar and I was convinced that they are rubbish as the WD My Book Live Duo. I really think that they designed this poor NAS Box just to give an exit to this bad HDs.

I've heard good comments from people about WD RED but at this moment I'm hesitant about this Company.

This is the wrong topic, you should have made your own, but I'll answer it regardless.
You bought a mere backup drive, NOT a NAS drive. The WDC Red are made for NAS storage, they're optimized for it & the usage reflects on it as well, the WDC green are more made to have videos, files and other stuff you don't need to access all the time.
So, I would advise you to look up what you're buying, or asking someone whom do know - before buying and complaining about it.
