i have the sapphire brand r7 250 gddr3 2gb. the only games i have installed so far and played (due to my rig being built about 3 weeks ago) are skyrim (played at ultra), fallout: new vegas (played at ultra), and starcraft 2 (also played at ultra). since you have the gddr5 model you should have no problem whatsoever because for obvious reasons gddr5 is faster than gddr3. however I'm not sure you would do so well with newer games, i.e. battlefield 4. maybe low or medium settings with a bunch of other things tweaked down it may allow you to play but i haven't bothered to try because i have bf4 for my playstation 4. anyways i hope this helps to me its a great card for what i play.

mine doesn't lag...thats odd. i get smooth framerate although i do not have any software to check my fps. try going into your settings and turn off anti aliasing and antiscoptric filtering (sorry if my spelling is bad). that should improve performance. there is one software that i used to use, its called "fraps" and its a recording software that will record in game footage along with capabilities to save photos in 4 different formats. it also shows in game framerate however you do have to purchase this software. its been a while so i don't remember the price of the program.

Aspect Ratio- 16:9 Widescreen
Resolution- 1920x1080
Antialiasing- off (best performance)
Antisoropic Filtering- off (best performance)
Detail- Ultra
Texture Quality- High
Radial Blur Quality- High
Shadow Detail- Ultra
Decal Quantity- Ultra
FXAA is unchecked
Water: Reflect land, Reflect objects, Reflect trees, and Reflect sky are all checked
View distance: all set to max
Distant object detail- Ultra
Object detail fade- unchecked

These are the settings i use in skyrim. i hope this helps. are you still having trouble?
