I have a Biostar T-Series TA790GX A3+ Ver. 5.x mobo that supports crossfire & crossfire hybrid, however, the manual states that only the cards listed are supported which at that time the 7770 cards did not exist so my question is whether or not two of the 7770 in crossfire mode will work on this MB.

As a side note, the 7770s are to replace the single 6750 card I had in the system. I had no issues with the card and the mobo until the card died.

Solution

If you don't already have a 7770, go for a more powerful single card, like the 7950, 7970, 270X, 760, and cards like those. You can later crossfire/SLI those.

Okay, I was just looking at the R9 270s..a little pricey, but about the same price as buying two 7770s, however, my question remains-if I crossfire two of these cards will it work in my mobo?

Yes. I probably will if your board has two PCI-E x16 ports.
