So, I decided to come into hardcore pc gaming with my first custom-made(which I am proud of) gaming rig this august. I cought a pretty good deal on amazon(uk) on a 7950. It was about 200 pounds. So I took it, having heard how good of a card is, its overclocking abilities and its overall performance. However, the "marvelous" windforce fans were REALY LOUD. Having been a noob, I didn't know what coil whine was. So I was like: It has 3 fans, no wonder its loud, especialy when I am maxing BF4 on 50-60 fps. HOWEVER, just hanging around on Linus Tech Tips channel I found a video of an AMD card having coil whine. And then I realised that was what my card had as well. I also checked up a noise test using furmark 3d and the noise was MINIMAL. So seems like I have coil whine. But do I realy? I found a video that shows EXACTLY what I am facing ATM. So Question to the Community #1: Do I REALY have coil whine or are the fans designed that way?(highly doubt so). #2 How can I tackle the problem W/O RMA.? #3 If my only option is to ditch the card at this point or live with the problem, am I able to? I ordered the card on the amazon link on 28th of august by Gigabyte themselves. #4 If I can, how should I approach this? Send an e-mail to amazon or what? I haven't realy RMAed a card before. Thanks for your time in advance and for reading through all this.

P.S: I know you guys can't be sure if I am able to RMA the card at this point since you are not from Gigabyte, but at least a guess?

You probably have coil whine or broken fan as my card with the windforce cooler is dead silent. You cannot return the card to amazon since is been one month already. My advice would be to contact Gigabyte support and tell them the issue :)

Yeah. Will do, also I may be getting Kraken X40 with Kraken G10 from NZXT for extreme cooling and dead silence. However if I am able to resolve the issue and save 100 pounds before my enthusiasm forces me to, that'd be great.

There could honestly be a chance that Amazon will accept the RMA. Try and talk to them via Phone/E-mail/Live Chat, preferably Phone or Live Chat so you can explain your situation a bit better! :)

Yeah, however I may have gotten rid of the box, I searched for it and I can't find it anywhere. So RMA is strating alot to not look like an option..

And since today I will have ALOT of free time, I will test to see where the coil gets worse and pushing it to its limits for a couple of hours and also try to overclock/overvolt so the vmr will change.
